Book Sales & Donations
About the Sales
The Friends host an ongoing book sale on the main floor of the Ashland Library during regular library hours. Come in and browse the eclectic collection. We ask that you pay a minimum of $1 per item and deposit your cash or checks in the book sale box on the welcome desk. Funds from the book sale help to fund Jackson County Library Services’ strategic initiatives.
Book Donation Guidelines
We welcome your donations to add to the book sale. Occasionally, donated items may be added to the library’s circulating collection, at the discretion of staff.
Donations should be brought to a staff person during regular library hours. Please do not put donations in book returns or leave them outside the building. We are unable to accept estate collections or pick up donations at this time.
We welcome your book, CD and DVD donations, but due to limited space and staffing we must regulate the book donations we accept.
Please do NOT donate:
- Encyclopedias, dictionaries, and thesauri
- Books in a foreign language
- Magazines
- Any items that are more than two years old, including
- Computer and science books
