History
From the time the local community rallied to build a Carnegie Library in 1912, Ashland residents enthusiastically supported their local branch and the Friends of the Ashland Library was formed. Incorporated in 1983 and, in 1998, receiving its 501(c)3 nonprofit status, the organization has funded programs for children, youth, and adults, as well as contributed funds toward an extensive remodeling of the library. The Friends organization welcomes Ashland residents to become members, and by doing so, give their continuing support to increase the valued programming offered at the Ashland Library.
