Tips for Ashland Library Book Donors
With curbside service continuing indefinitely at Ashland, the library must again discontinue accepting book donations. Thanks to all who contributed items the last several weeks, and we will let you know when donations can be accepted again.
Thanks for thinking of the library for your donations.
Funds from the Friends book sale go toward programs for all ages, as well as to special equipment and collection development.
Due to space and safety considerations, we must limit the items we accept.
We cannot accept:
- Encyclopedias or dictionaries
- Computer books more than 2 years old
- Travel books more than 2 years old
- Medical, legal, or finance titles over 2 years old
- Reader’s Digests
- Religious tracts
- Any materials that are dirty, marked, or moldy.
Please limit the number of boxes you bring to no more than SIX per day.
We cannot accept estate collections, nor do we have a system to pick up books.
If the library staff does not need your donation for the library collection, we will add it to the book sale, to the free shelves, or pass it on to another library, a thrift shop, or another non-profit or social service agency, depending on condition, space, and need.
